Grace @ Bell Road Church in Montgomery, AL is a multi-generational family that seeks to lift up the name of Jesus Christ. Pastor Scott Lawry shares his blog to bring encouragement as we are on our journey to discover God's grace.
I am astounded by the wimpiness (another coined word that should be a word) in the Church today. Being a man of God is narrowed down into going to church, dressing nice, going to a men's group, and then living pointless and aimless.
Oh that men would see their calling in Christ to fight for their families. To fight for their neighbors. To fight for their churches. To fight for their community. To fight for the Kingdom of GOD!
I believe the Lord is calling men to higher standard. A higher place of leadership. And it is not to follow a feminized wimpy Jesus with blue eyes, flowing brown hair, and a soft complexion. He is a warrior!
Rev 19:11-16
11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
He is a warrior and and He is calling His men to be warriors too. This Father's day lets not be content to read nice cards from our families. Let's battle for them. Let's engage them. Let's be men of Jesus.
